Have you ever heard of a Mongolian silver cup? Also, would you like to buy Mongolian bowl? Then you have come to the right place. We sell products from local manufacturers here.

Mongolian people say, “A person without a cup is the same as a person without a mouth.”  Mongolians, especially men, are accustomed to having their own wooden, silver, or copper bowl that they bring around with them at all times to eat and drink tea. They don’t drink out of other people’s cups.

There are many different silver bowls made by Mongolian craftsmen of various generations with their high degree of craftsmanship being kept at the National Museum of Mongolia. One of them is the medium-sized silver bowl with gold coated decorations that was used by Marshal Choibalsan.

The bowl is first made with wood, then coated entirely with silver. Its side and bottom parts are decorated with traditional patterns. Silver bowls are embellished with a variety of traditional designs and distinctive features created by local artisans from various parts of the country. In other words, the owner’s hometown, race, income, and social status can all be deduced from their bowl alone.

Inspired by such traditional bowls, this Mongolian-style tea bowl is trimmed with antique-finished white metal and is a suitable vessel for offering tea to the Gurus or the Dharma Protectors on your altar or shrine.

A silver cup is the most respected gift. Silver cups are given to friends, parents and relatives and the elderly. At celebratory times, people hold a silver cup of milk on a ceremonial scarf and say a prayer for blessing.

Tea in a silver bowl is served to honored guests of the Mongolian tribe. Giving a guest tea or food in a chipped or empty cup is called impolite. Tea or food is often placed in a cup and given. Giving a cup of tea or food with either one hand or only the left hand is considered impolite. The cup should not be put upside down after eating or drinking. You just don’t leave food in your cup. Stepping over a cup is considered impolite.
