Foreign exchange controls

All goods and services prices within Mongolia must be quoted in MNT and business transactions between registered Mongolian entities must be settled at MNT. Contract values in other currencies (mostly USD), particularly in international and tourism industries, are not uncommon, but there are risks for authorities to take all of the contract revenues due to contract prices being in foreign currencies.

In addition to the taxes addressed in section 5 of this guide, the repatriation of capital is not prohibited.
